Breakfast of champions

When I was a kid, my family would have huge breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Fried eggs were especially popular as well as biscuits and gravy (my mom taught me how to make the best gravy in the world), sausage, bacon and sometimes pancakes or french toast.

I still love a nice and filling, hot breakfast on Sunday mornings after my weigh in. Here is this week's spread:

Two pieces of Ezekiel bread french toast, 2 scrambled eggs with green peppers, a bit of cheese, topped with salsa and hot sauce. Oh, and my morning coffee with almond milk.

On Sundays, I let myself have whatever I want to eat (within reason) in order to give myself a reward for completing another week working on my health and fitness. I cooked all my meals at home yesterday which resulted in some delicious soy Italian sausage "pizza" and as part of my dinner, whole wheat couscous - my favorite! I now have leftovers for the week.

I'm headed to the water park near my house to spend my Labor Day in the lazy river. How are you spending your Labor Day?

318 pounds, and bragging about that breakfast, and a reward. Food as a reward. Reminds me that you are 20....Be well..

Allan, although you are hypocritically being negative Nancy on my blog, but not allowing my voice to be heard on yours, I will explain my reasoning (not that I have to).

Yes, that's right, for 1 day a week I let myself eat whatever I want. And guess what? It works for me because it keeps me on track the other 6 days a week and keeps me from plateauing. And I've found even on my "free" days I'm more than likely to stay on track. For example, that breakfast was part of a my "free" day - a day that I only went over my target number by 86 calories.

Oh and by the way, I'm at 316.4 - don't cheat me out of my 1.6 pounds :)

There is no hate here, and this was never a flame. I feel for Stephen and respect everything he has done. I have been where he is, and he needs support. I said that the plan will work for him, if he follows it. He is not and that makes me mad. As for your plan, I hope it works, and I wish you nothing but the best...
