Thankful Thursday

Over the weekend I cleaned out my closet. I took everything out I knew was too big and any winter stuff that still fit, I packed away. While packing those items away I found my "Jared pants" that I kept from my highest weight.

So I tried them on....

Excuse the unkempt hair...I was mid-cleaning!

It was unbelievable to be reminded how far I've come. I started on the upper end of size 28. I was starting to "grow out" of size 28 and I feared where I would be able to buy my clothes because I already had trouble finding 28s in a brick and mortar store (Lane Bryant was really the only place I shopped).

I am thankful I have lost 119 pounds from my highest weight. I am thankful I have the support of my friends and family who have been there to encourage me. I am thankful that even though I haven't lost much in 6 months, I have not gained anything either. I am thankful for the support and encouragement of those who read and comment on this blog. It's true, I'd like to lose another 40 lbs, but even if I don't realize that goal on the scale I know that I am healthier and fitter than I was 4 years ago. And for that I am thankful.

That's awesome Em! You have done a great job! I think you need to hang onto those and any day you are feeling down you can put them on and remind yourself of your accomplishment :)

Great post! Best to focus on what we're thankful for than on the hard times. Sadly, I have gained since I started my weight-loss journey. But rather than throw in the towel, I'm ready to fight harder. My highest weight ever was 289 and I'm thankful to be at 240 now ... even if I've gained in the last 6 months. I know I can turn that around because I've done it before! Way to be positive and not lose sight of the important things.
